The oldest theme park, Cypress Gardens is located
45 miles southwest of Orlando, near Winter Haven,
housing 8000 flower varieties from 90 countries.
Along with the flowers there are waterskiing
shows and a butterfly house. The gardens also
house a railway layout.
The entry
ticket costs $28 Adults and $17 children
age 3-9.To see the entire park from the
air you can catch the “Kodak Island
in the Sky” ride.
There are 500 of the
most popular American rose varieties at
All-American Rose Garden and in the park
there can be found bougainvillea, bird
of paradise, chrysanthemums and cypress
trees.
In Mid November the annual
Chrysanthemum festival is held when over
2 million flowers bloom. From Mid December
to Mid January there is the Poinsettia
festival.
Also the visitors can visit a forest with
endangered wildlife and can explore nature
trails. An interesting attraction is the
railway made of 1000 feet of track, 4800
miniature figures of animals and humans
and 400 buildings, called Cyprus Junction,
a model of an American town in different
seasons.

The park closed in April 2003
but reopened in December 2004 because of hurricanes
Charley, Frances and Jeanne that caused damage
and delays.
Cypress garden is situated in
Florida and has been created into a world class
attraction that is a perfect blend of loveliness,
